Ms. Lyons has responsibility for the day-to-day operation of Environmental Sciences Section wet labs. She works on a number of projects dealing with the biological effects of contaminants in freshwater and seawater. These projects include lethal and sublethal effects of pesticides, endocrine disrupting compounds, chemicals used in the aquaculture industry, oil, oil dispersants, produced water and harmful algae blooms. Ms. Lyons uses spectrophotometry, fluorometry, HPLC and gel electrophoresis to measure biomarkers in biological samples.
