Fall science survey in the Scotian Shelf and Bay of Fundy
From September 28 to October 21, 2025, our scientists will be onboard the Royal Research Ship (RRS) James Cook for a multidisciplinary science survey.
The Gully Marine Protected Area
The Gully Marine Protected Area (MPA) was established in 2004. It is located off the coast of Nova Scotia. The Gully is Canada’s largest underwater canyon and its oldest MPA. This canyon is a truly remarkable undersea feature where the seafloor rapidly drops to over 3,000 metres deep, creating a diversity of habitats.
